The earlier regulators do voltage only, the later ones regulate current, too. Early generators had a setting to limit current, the later ones depend upon the regulator to do that. Thus mixing later gen with early regulator can burn up the generator if you have a condition like a seriously discharged but good quality battery. The tag was bad on this one so I stamped a new tag for you...Makes for a sharp looking unit! This unit is drilled to be used with the voltage/current regulator mounted right on the generator. Fully tested under full load as well as with the right regulator. If you need a pulley check my other listings and see if I have the one you need. If you don't see it, send me a note before you pay and I probably have one but it just isn't cleaned up and listed yet. Most parts are 1970 and before. Consider adding me to your favorite sellers list and keep an eye on my auctions.
