John Deere 1940 Unstyled GW! One of 5 at most ever built!
The wide front was added at either the Branch House or dealer. The frame of the tractor was modified for the 8 bolt front pedestal to fit the 6 bolt hole frame.
The A1100R center tube had the letter a ground off when installed. It uses an Unstyled A Steering Shaft.
This tractor was found apx 15 years ago in Southern California where it was found by world wide known collector Don Dufner. The tractor was featured in Two Cylinder Magazine in the May/June 2015 issue. I was also asked by The Two Cylinder Club to bring it to the very last Expo in the summer of 2015 in Waterloo Iowa.
The engine was stuck when shown at the expo but from many people admiring the tractor and tanking on the flywheel it was broke loose at the show! The engine does turn over but does not run. Tractor deserves to have a top to bottom and side to side restoration. Only 1 other of the 5 have been found and it is the last one built. What a center piece of anyones collection to own the very first GW ever built! The tractor is located only 5 miles off of interstate 35 north of Albert Lea Mn 56007.
